Market baskets have been used for generations in France and elsewhere thanks to their sturdy structure, easy-to-carry shape and generous size. They have been handwoven over several hours by farming families in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco using time-honoured techniques. It is made from the leaves of the date palm which are woven into stripes and sewn together to form the 'rounds' of the basket.
This mini version with short hand-stitched leather handles is as strong as the rest of the range while being highly portable. Its smaller size means it's great for those small trips when you only want to carry a wallet, sunglasses, phone and your keys. It's also lovely for children for use for picnics and carrying their beach treasures. Or display with your favourite plants inside — just place a plate underneath the actual plant.
Note: As this is an all-natural, handmade product, there will be variations in size and colour and subtle imperfections which only add to its unique appeal.
