designer brian hoy

There's no doubting it. Australian interior design has come a long way. When you look at these images, showcasing the work of Brian Hoy, there's a keen sense of luxury, grandeur and sophistication - synonyms that might not normally spring to mind when talking about local talent. Brian's work belongs to the same school of design as his friend, Greg Natale. These men aren't afraid of a little baroque in their interiors. Hurray for that.

What five words best describe you? Calm, visual, resonate, renaissance, modern.
What's your proudest achievement? Refraining from committing murder on a construction site.
Who inspires you? My friends, Carlo Scarpa,
Andrea Palladio, environmentalists.
What are you passionate about? Antiques, philosophy and architecture.
What's the best lesson you've learnt? Follow your inner voice.
Which person, living or dead, would you most like to meet? Liberace.
What are you excited about? People, possibility and potential.
What's next? At the moment I am working on a range of interior design projects and looking forward to further developing a range of furniture. My first standard lamp, which I designed, will be delivered next week - looking forward to seeing it finished.
