HOME TOUR | LEANNE FORD

For this home tour, we are so excited to take you into the newest home of interior designer Leanne Ford. You may know (and love) her from her show 'Restored with the Fords' and more recently 'Home Again with the Fords' that she stars in with her brother Steve. In her show and design work, Leanne creates beautifully soulful spaces that are layered with texture and playful details. Her work has been featured in Vanity Fair, Elle Decor, Domino, Architectural Digest, the New York Times & many more.

We were lucky enough to chat with Leanne and get a look into her newest personal project, a restored hunting cabin in Laurel Canyon that embraces her signature 'white on white' palette and rustic timber farmhouse aesthetic.

The cabin story…

It's a 500 square foot old hunting cabin from 20s deep into Laurel Canyon.

What inspired the design of this home?

The simplicity and size of the space, the wood grains, the canyon life.

What are some of the biggest lessons you've learnt while creating this home?

STOP living in your house while fixing it, Leanne!! (Face plant!) You would think I’d have figured that out by now!

What do you love about it?

The tree it surrounds. It’s visible from every window.

What does simple living mean to you?

Enjoying what ya got in any phase of life. It is ever changing. So just enjoy it now. It’s a much happier and simpler way to enjoy life.

If you were to have a spare free morning, how would you spend it?

I have lots of spare mornings free actually. I make sure of it, because it’s good for my creative little brain. Sleep IN. English breakfast tea with my book. Then breakfast with my daughter and husband.  And then to my pottery studio! Probably move some furniture around… write something witty… ya know. The usual.

What are three words that best describe you?

I’d like to phone a friend for this one…

What book can you recommend?

Oh boy—way too many to get me started. But your readers would love "Monochrome Home," by Hilary Robertson. And I love “My Years in France” by Julia child.

What are your favourite products from Imprint House?

One of everything please and thank you! I have done some serious shopping with you guys!
