Sydney Design 08 kicks off with Modernism
Mary Featherston will discuss the sexiest chairs around - this one is for going for auction at Shapiro with an expected price of $2000-3000 (if you have some spare change!)
Don't you just love the first pic (well, I love the second pic too - but the chair even more!). I love the way the women have their legs positioned on an angle. This image relates to the session "Modern times - untold stories of modernism" as part of Sydney Design 08. One of the talks will be by Mary Featherston who will discuss the sexiest chairs around - those by Grant Featherston. The design festival is on from 8-24 August 2008 at the Powerhouse Museum.
Worth knowing: free lunchtime talks - Talks After Noon - are on every Wednesday and Sunday at the Powerhouse Museum. During August the talks relate to events, exhibitions and people featured in SD 08.
